I originally had roses in mind for this arrangement. When I went to purchase the flowers there were lots of red and white roses, but I was struck by the beauty of these fuchsia and pink peonies which I could not resist, so I bought the peonies instead. However, I did add white roses, blush Coffee Beans and ultimately roses from my garden. I also purchased Silver Dollar Eucalyptus and Dusty Miller to bring in soft grey greens. These were arranged in a gold glass vase to give a little Christmas sparkle.
Peonies are imported to the US from December through February from South America and at $7.99 - $12.99 a bunch at supermarkets you can not beat the price. Just for reference, a bunch (which consists of 5 stems) can cost up to $30.00 at the LA Flower Market. By the way, all of the flowers in this arrangement besides a few garden roses, came from a supermarket. Happy shopping!
If you have your flowers and supplies, let’s begin. I hope you enjoy this arrangement as much as I have.
