1 packet of floral food

I spotted a farmer selling lilacs at the local farmers market…$5.00 a bunch. What a deal. The color and fragrance are remarkable.
This arrangement is super easy. Just keep the shape of the bunch, cut the stems at a sharp angle so they will absorb more water and place them in a glass vase with water and floral food. You will have a little bit of spring in your home, even if the weather is still cloudy and chilly. It’s a preview of what is to come as the weather warms up.
If you have the lilacs, vase, and shears, let’s begin.
Here are your materials.
Wash vase and add water.
Fill to about 3 inches below rim.
Pour in one packet of flower food.
Hold lilacs up to vase to determine where to cut.
Trim all same length. Cut at very sharp angle.
Cut any thick stems with a lopper.
Remove any small branches or leaves below the water line.
Take binding off bunch and lower into vase.
