The first blooms for roses are always the biggest. I was surprised the other day when I as I was driving home I noticed some very large pink roses in the side garden bed. Upon examination, I saw the blooms were 5 inches in diameter, and I thought, “Oh, I have to use these in an arrangement.” So voila! There were matching tulips in the grocery store and these lovely green hydrangeas, so I used those along with ferns from the garden bed and my camellias which are still in bloom.
