Rated: Super Easy Arrangement
You honestly can't miss with this arrangement. The Peonies were on special, 5 large stems for $4.99. But they would even be a steal at Trader Joe's price of $6.99.
After purchasing the flowers, you need to use one of your treasure hunt finds. You do go treasure hunting at antique stores don't you? This beautiful blue and white vase came from a such an adventure. When you turn it over and look at the bottom, it says Schulz Porcelain US. I checked out the manufacturer and found a great story about a family owned porcelain manufacturing company in Portland Oregon, that took its designs from the Pacific Northwest. The vase has a beautiful glaze and texture, and blue and white porcelain is classic. If you're interested, here's the website: http://home.earthlink.net/~schulzporcelain/wholesale/id87.html
Next, pull out a silver try. Someone gave this tray to my daughter. You can give your arrangement a backdrop with a long scarf in a color that compliments the vase or the flowers. A candle is the finishing touch. In this case, the candle stick holder is cut crystal, that was a gift from a neighbor. So, if you collect these finds as you go, when someone brings you a bouquet of flowers, you can put together an arrangement using what you already have.
NIFTY TRICK: The 1/3 bag of marbles will help to hold your stems in place. If you didn't use them you would need twice as many blooms to get the same effect. Keep some marbles on hand. Keep an eye out for them at dollar store.
